<p>Building the infrastructure that connects North America requires a lot of wheels.</p>


<h5>Building the infrastructure that connects North America requires a lot of wheels. We rely on a fleet of over 70,000 vehicles to provide people with the power they need. While we work to build the infrastructure that connects people to renewable sources of energy, we are also taking a hard look at our own impact.</h5>
<p>We are working on many fronts to reduce the impact of our fleet across the board, changing the vehicles and fuel we use, as well as how we use them. We have signed a commitment to purchase 500 all-electric Chevrolet Silverados, underscoring our commitment to the energy transition. We are also making the switch from diesel to liquid natural gas, reducing CO2 emissions and noise pollution, and improving vehicle longevity and air quality along the way. We have embraced technologies that enable us to use our fleet more responsibly—managing vehicle health, reducing engine idling, and promoting safer, more efficient driving. As we build the infrastructure for a brighter future, we are continually improving the tools we use.</p>

<h5>Quanta unites over 200 operating companies across North America. The decentralized nature of our business presented a challenge in understanding the energy use of our facilities. We met this challenge by utilizing a third-party IT solution to measure our energy use at more than 1,000 properties owned and leased by Quanta operating companies. From 2019 to 2021, we saw a 15% decline in energy intensity across our properties.</h5>
<p>In 2021, Quanta acquired Blattner Company. Specializing in wind, solar, and energy storage, Blattner represents the future of Quanta, and the Blattner headquarters represents the future of Quanta facilities. Built in 2008, the headquarters office building utilized sustainable techniques in design and construction, earning a LEEDⓇ Platinum Certification. An addition in 2015 brought electric vehicle charging stations, a geothermal HVAC expansion, and on-site wind and solar energy production. We will continue to leverage the technologies at our disposal to reduce our footprint as we build a brighter future.</p>

Large scale infrastructure projects will always carry risks for the environment, but with intentional decision making backed by new technologies, we can minimize this impact.</h5>
<p>Quanta changed the way our industry thinks about safety with The Capacity Model. The model requires us to assess potential failure before it occurs. We are leveraging this tool to perform our work in increasingly sensitive ways. From laying temporary vehicle access matting, to incorporating aviation in our construction, we always consider and minimize our effects on local ecosystems when performing projects. We are continually looking for ways to not just protect, but improve our environment, like restoring natural landscapes upon project completion.</p>
<p>Our Environmental Management System and our Environmental Compliance Awareness Program have earned Quanta an industry-wide reputation for environmental compliance. We continue to be selected for the most environmentally sensitive projects. The world will always need power, but we are committed to connecting that power in ever-more sustainable ways.</p>

<h5>Access to the internet is no longer a luxury. The economic, educational, and social opportunities available online have become increasingly essential to how we live our lives. Despite this reality, many rural communities across North America lack affordable and reliable access to the internet. Quanta is working to change that.</h5>
<p>We are a trusted partner of the telecommunications industry, building the infrastructure of connection, from transmission towers to fiber optic networks. Quanta has partnered with Starry Group Holdings, Inc. in a venture to bring high-speed internet services to homes wirelessly. We are working together to ensure everyone has access to the opportunities of the internet, partnering with public and affordable housing owners to provide ultra-low-cost, high-speed internet to underserved community members. By working to provide affordable access for all, we continue our mission to connect people and power.</p>

We choose our charitable partners intentionally, listening to and learning from our community stakeholders. We work with partners on all scales, with donations ranging from hundreds to millions of dollars.</h5>
<p>At Quanta, we know that the strength and resilience of the communities where we live and work has a direct bearing on our success. Our partnerships range from hyper-local to national and take on issues from beautifying shared spaces to fighting childhood cancer. Our employees practice our shared values across the continent through volunteerism and supporting their fellow employees in the Quanta Cares Initiative. The presence of Quanta employees in a community will always be a positive force, whether they are at work or at home.</p>

We invest in the whole person through our Employee Wellness Program and enhanced mental health support. Quanta was named the 2nd healthiest company in Texas, and the 15th healthiest company in the United States in 2021. By fostering a culture that promotes individual health, and providing the resources for individuals to make healthy choices, we invest in our employees leading better, healthier lives.</h5>
<p>Our future is only as bright as our people’s future. We have established a world-class Craft Training Network and have partnered with educational institutions like Sam Houston State University to connect our people with the resources they need to build successful careers. We have also partnered with Hiring Our Heroes to expand on our commitment to hiring veterans. Our success depends on the pride and commitment of our people, and we are committed to them.</p>

Our Board of Directors plays an active oversight role, conducting regular reviews and discussions with management on all levels. The full board is involved in setting Quanta’s short- and long-term business strategy, assessing and managing risks as they exist today, and understanding how those risks may evolve in the future.</h5>
<p>We believe in upholding our values at all levels, and the Board of Directors is no exception. To ensure that the safety of employees remains our highest priority, and that we consider our role as stewards of the environment in all decisions, our executive compensation is tied to the achievement of safety performance and sustainability-based goals. We recognize diversity as a strength and have shaped our Corporate Governance Guidelines to achieve a board that reflects a diversity of backgrounds, organizational experience, and tenure.</p>
<p>Crafting our strategic plan to support the transition to a carbon-neutral future and to enhance the lives of our employees, our clients, and our communities, requires a strong governance framework. This framework starts with the Board of Directors.</p>

We have established a Code of Conduct that conveys the importance of ethical behavior and the standard of behavior for all our employees. Our Code of Conduct addresses compliance with applicable laws and Quanta’s policies concerning, among other things, general business ethics, competition, anti-corruption and bribery, environmental protection, conflicts of interest, harassment and discrimination, data security and privacy, and insider trading.</h5>
<p>Quanta’s Code of Conduct informs employees and third parties of the resources and confidential reporting mechanisms available to detect, prevent, and report unethical and illegal conduct. The Quanta standard not only makes us an employer and partner of choice, but sets the bar higher across the infrastructure solutions industry.</p>

<p>In 2021, Quanta Services acquired Blattner Company, one of the largest and leading utility-scale renewable energy infrastructure solutions providers in the United States to enhance our role in connecting people to renewable energy sources. Blattner spans the United States and operates in the main sectors of wind, solar, and energy storage, bringing renewable energy expertise to the Quanta family of companies.</p>
